The aim of this paper is to study the determinants of international specialization in small island countries. The analysis of intemational specialization of these countries requires special attention towards their small size and difficult accessibility. These variables have received little attention among the determinants of trade and intemational specialisation, but this paper shows that they do have analytical relevance. We have also considered trade of services and intemational transfers because of their importance in foreign receipts and payments of these countries.

Keywords: international specialisation, small island economies, economic size, accessibility.
